Yaymeme.
babydykecate got me for this.
A) People who have been tagged must write their answers in their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.
B) Tag 8 people to do this quiz & those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. *Whispers.* Pass it on!
1. What are your nicknames?
Authorized ones (LOL)? None, really. Family groups, depending on how often I see them, are often still stuck on Ally (authorized from preschool-ish to 3rd grade) or Alex (4th grade to two weeks into 6th). Mom calls me "goose" on occasion. Siblings have nicknames that don't bear repeating. A lot of people are still on the "Alex" one, either because they just assume that that's what I go by (which pisses me off to no end, and yet is how it usually works) or because they were introduced to me by someone who calls me that because they knew me in elementary school.
2. What do you do before bedtime?
Bedtime? What is this concept? I take naps, usually, with nothing ever quite feeling like going to bed, so there's no routine like many people would have. Usually it simply consists of close laptop, brush crumbs off of bed, turn off light.
3. How late did you stay up last night and why?
Ha, see above. I "went to bed" around 6:30 am, woke up at 11am or so, prolly will be going back to sleep in a little bit so I can get up to go to the gym around 10, etc. It'll be fixed forcably by the time school rolls around again in about a week and a half, but until then. . . . And why? There is so much interesting stuffs on the interwebs and you really need to ask that question?
4. What colour of shirt are you wearing right now?
Blue. T-shirt from the gifted kids' summer camp I worked in July.
5. Are you you a cat person or a dog person?
Dog, simply because I've never had a cat. Plus, I love kittens, but the independance (read: snobbery) of grown up cats annoys me, when labs are always "OMG!!ILU, playwithmepetmelovemeYAY!")
shadow_phoenix2's new question (because I don't know the rules of this meme, I'll do this replacement one as well): Did you ever have a fantasy about a teacher?
Ohyes. Massive infatuation/first major crush was on a middle school teacher of mine. I tend to do intellectual crushes more often than sexual ones ("I want to be you/learn everything you know" rather than "I want to do you"), so teachers are a fairly common object for mini!crushes, though I've never had one as big as I did on her.
6.Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone? REPLACE! (Too much thinking.) What's the one you're most afraid of/anxious about right now?
Def. moving out in a bit more than a week. I have massive vulnerability problems re: sleeping in the same room with other people (idk where I got it--it's almost a self-preservation/OMG she's going to slit my throat in my sleep kind of thing that even my parents aren't usually an exception to), so having a roommate is going to be killer tough.
7. Do you trust easily?
Depends on about what. I'm either way too fast to trust people (with certain things) and misjudge or way too slow.
shadow_phoenix2's new question: What about an individual makes them “smoldering”?
It's all in the mind. Intelligence, with a passion for what they do. Confidence. A little shyness is fine, but you've got to come through somewhere. Strength of will, belief, personality, etc. All that cliche stuff.
8. If the person you secretly like is already taken, what would you do?
Idk. Never really had this problem (with an achievable "person I secretly like"--see #5b). I'd like to think that I wouldn't ever encourage them to cheat or anything (I'm pretty sure I'm too shy for that).
9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Not particularly unhappy. Not really happy, lately, but sort of blah. Nervous about moving, displeased with the state of my dental issues (and insurance), harried with hooking up/checking on paychecks and insurance stuff for the move and buying sheets and towels, etc. My dog dying, that was not a happy thing. LOL, now that I list this stuff, ignore my first sentence--I'm such a whiner, I've totally talked myself down.
(IDK why there are two #9, but this is how I got it from
babydykecate, so we'll let it go.)
9. Favourite TV show?
At the moment? SVU, as I've been going back and catching reruns/streaming old episodes--I only got into it right after Alex left, so I missed all the Cabottastic episodes and have only been catching them by rerun. A few weeks ago it was Torchwood, but I finished the series and that sort of petered out. It's a cyclical thing--show me a rerun or toss me a great fanfic and I'll be so deep into whatever show that I won't talk of anything else for weeks, until the next one.
10. Do you have a good body image?
Hahahaha. No. I've got issues there, it's fair to say.
11. Is being tagged fun?
Totally.
12. What websites do you visit daily?
Craigslist, as I'm shopping for stuff for the move. The Freecycle-esque local groups (they call themselves different things). Lately, Neopets, LOL. Facebook, as everybody else is getting ready to split up tambien. Usuallybutnotalways LJ. Yahoo mail, naturally.
13.Who are currently the most important people to you? IDK, so new question (making it up is prolly harder than answering, though): What is your worst habit?
Depends on who you ask. Nail-biting is my worst in terms of longest-running (since first grade). Other people probably think my swigging straight out of two-liters of soda is the worst (but hey, if I bought them. . . ).
14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
Well, I've been running into
babydykecate around fandom for ages, so it's pretty definite that we're into the same things. We're pretty new acquisitions to each other's friends lists, but I'd like to get to know her better. From what I've read, she's really confident in her sexuality, which I admire, and politically-minded, which is a total turn-on for someone who is likewise.
15. What’s the last song that got stuck in your head?
"Lola" by The Kinks. Because I watched the episode of "In Plain Sight" with the contract killer that went by Lola, and Mary sang bits of the song in the episode, thus making me download it, and my recent acquisitions always tend to get a lot of ear-time.
16. What’s your favourite item of clothing?
I've got a supergiant (XL or XXL) Denver Broncos winter coat that my dad gave to me. I wore it pretty much 24/7 from October--March this year because it's so damn comfortable.
17. What would you do if you're alone at home all day?
Internets. I love cooking as well, though I haven't been doing any lately because of the mouth+surgery thing (which I might not have posted about yet, come to think of it; suffice it to say, gingival graft). It used to be more of a cool thing before I had my own computer, but now it's more of a non-issue as I can just hang out in my room on my laptop and do the same thing (minus the cooking, but still).
18. What's the first thing you notice in people?
How they carry themselves. And, since it's usually one of the first things you do when being introduced, handshake technique. Do they make eye contact, do you have to initiate the shake, (and this is the kicker) do they offer you their hand like a limp fish? I tell you, nothing sets my opinion of you faster than lame, limp-wristed hand non-shakes.
19. What items could you not go without during the day?
My keys with the gym passes. I'm a treadmill-endorphin addict. Plus, it's the only access I have to cable TV, so if I don't go, there's my chance to watch [insert TV show of current obsession here] reruns. And naturally the computer.
20. What should you be doing right now?
Cleaning also (can't everybody always say that?). Packing (but that requires cleaning first to find packable items). Laundry (see previous).
