So, I've been rereading all the Harry Potter books in order again in preparation for the last one. (On a side note, it's surely impressive on JKR's part that I can reread these after having read them literally a dozen times each and still laugh at the funny bits.) I started Thursday, just reading them before bed, and I'm 2/3 through Prisoner of Azkaban now, and I came up with a fic this afternoon, while reading it. Hermione/Hermione timeturner secks. I had the logistics of it all planned out in my head, when you'd have to turn it to meet yourself after knowing what you were planning on doing, and how it would be this endless loop of time twisting (I get off on temporal theory), and I come to the computer tonight to check my email, and I happen to search for fic, just randomly, and what do I find on a page of recs, but this exact fic. Ahh, the wonders of the collective brain of fandom.

It was kinda confusing, though. Idk, I've read better somebody/themselves fics. I've got a somebody/themselves in some other time/universe/whatever kink, though, so it was still hot.

lol, don't you hate when that happens? Personally, every now and then, I take a popular theme and completely redo it in the attempt to be different from everyone else's and if it's anime--do it realistically. Funny how I'm not very popular, what with deliberately being outside the norm and all...

Although really? Hermione/Hermione? I guess I'm just not a great fan of the character. But I guess she's what you've got for femslash.

ITA on the books being a great re-read. I need to FIND all of mine. Most of my books are still packed from the move almost a year ago *rolls eyes*

Yeah? I'm a sucker for what looks like cliche/read-that-plot-a-thousand-times fic that ends up twisting on you. It's also probably a helpful way to get past a bit of writer's block, because you already know where you're starting, no?

I have absolutely no idea why that popped into my head. It was more my pondering the physics of the Time-Turner than anything, but it did definitely did show up in my ponderings, and then I was looking for totally different pairings when I found it, so it was quite a coincidence.

Hee, me too. I finished the third one early this morning, but I can't find the fourth (or 5th or 6th, for that matter). Which is annoying, because I've found two copies each of the 2nd and 3rd, and yet not the ones I need.
