Hee, I've got my email set up now to deliver all lj comment notifications to a folder called "Unreplied LJ comments" so hopefully I won't lose them so much in my 300 someodd message strong inbox. I had tried to do that earlier, more than a year ago, but for some reason it didn't work. Of course, that doesn't mean that I'll find time to answer them, but still. Yay.

Must go to bed. I've got more things to talk about, but I've decided that as I've got to get up early enough tomorrow to take a shower (as I managed to completely forget tonight and my hair is scummy) and take all the trash to the curb for pickup (of which there is a lot because of continued room cleaning), I should probably endeavor to get more than three hours of sleep. Which will not happen unless I fall asleep within the next 20 minutes. Damn.

Oh. And since I actually played volleyball for two games in one match on Sunday (which was funfunfun)? My knees are purple. Badly so. Makes me laugh, because it's all *paleywhitepaleywhite-purplishbrownishyuck-paleywhitepaleywhite* Dumb annoying habit of diving for the ball even when there's no chance of reaching it in time. I realize that there's no chance, and yet I dive. Probably because I want to make it look like I tried to get it so people don't think I'm lazy. Even though there's no chance that anyone would have been able to get it in my position. This needing to please people thing, I dunno.

I had to make a tag for self-analysis. Because I have tags for everything else and I do that so often that it practically deserves its own LJ. Makes me smile, because I realize that most people probably don't spend as much time analyzing the motives behind every unconscious decision/action/thought/dream as I do. Dunno what that says about me.

I went to school crying when Gabby fell down the big firey pit to kill her daughter and save Xena.

Ahh, yes! It's interesting to look back at which episodes I actually remember (because I was always fighting with my parents because they wanted to watch ER at the same time Xena was on, plus I was still young enough towards the beginning seasons that they were like "Err, nope. Not watching this episode"). That's one of them. "Ides of March" was also one that always got me. I still have trouble not crying when they're all "I've always loved you. You were the best thing that ever happened to me. *dies*" And then the angel bit at the end? Tres sad. And "A Friend in Need" I refuse to watch. At all. Because I hated that episode. Not only is it sad because they kill Xena, but did they really have to do it in such a gruesome manner? That's actually one that I remember from when it first ran, but I assume that my parents didn't let me see the gory bits. Still. Tis disturbing. I used to refuse to believe that the events in the episode actually happened, but then I started taking the Virtual Series as canon (as one of the actual show authors wrote the two-parter that brought Xena back in the virtual series and several more episodes, I had no problem taking it as such) so I'll allow that it happened, but only provided that she came back soon after. /is a geek

Hee, fanclub. Unoficially, I totally was. I used to make up/write fanfiction for them way back when, before I knew that fanfiction was an actual thing. But I am the stingiest person with money ever, and I shelled out the $200 for the complete 6 seasons on DVD, which I think says a lot about how much I was obsessed with that show. The DVDs which my brother then ruined about 4 disks of and scratched all to hell several more. Grr. But still. It's not one of those shows that I watch and then don't pull out the DVDs for again for a year or more like some of the DVD sets that I've got, because especially with some of the deeper episodes like "Ides of March", you catch little things (namely more subtext, but also inside jokes and cool filmography bits and such) every time.

Well at least I haven't had to use another comment box so I don't feel so long-winded.

Hey, it's all good. I've done the three comment box thing multiple times (and do the two comment box thing every couple of days), so longwindedness isn't any kind of problem here.

*gasps* Ides of March was so sad *gets teary*
I could never afford any of the DVD things but a couple yrs ago my husband bought me the like set they have at wal-mart with like 6 discs - like supposed to be the best eps or something. Yeah those eps where Xena went crazy and danced with all the animal blood was disturbing. And I hated when they cut Gabby's beautiful hair... *growl*

The thing you said about the watching it alot and catching new stuff or subtext I totally agree with. I'm the same way with House. I always catch something and its awesome.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've seen those. I sort of wanted to buy one because it had quite a few of my favorites on there plus the extra stuff, but I had just ordered the full series when I first saw them in the stores. I'm planning to buy a similar set though, for Star Trek (yeah, I'm a sci-fi geek) when they finally come out with it. They've been putting out themed collections, and I'm sort of a whore for the mirror universe, so I've been waiting for that one to come out. They had us vote for the other episodes beyond all the mirror ones to put on there a while back, so I don't know what's taking them so long. *is impatient*

Ooh. Yeah. I kinda avoid those eps. Just a little creeptastic. Those were the ones when Gabrielle was dead, too, which is not fun.

Yup, me too! Actually, recently I was watching "Hunting" and I totally caught and actually got one of Stacy's lines for the first time. House was talking about how after sex she slept like a baby, and then was all "I can make sure you sleep well tonight," and Stacy's like "No, I'd rather take care of it myself, thanks." Made me laugh rather loudly when I heard it again because she so was talking about how she planned to go over to Cuddy's house to "take care of it". ;D
