My skin has been all yellowish tinged of late. I just noticed it today, and I thought it was just the lighting in my bathroom, but I asked my mom in a different room where the lighting was different, and she said that it was. My eyes aren't, I'm pretty sure. Though I didn't look, because I didn't think of that. *goes to mirror* Umm, shit. They actually are, a little. Not good.
Hee, differential diagnosis for jaundice, stat. I've been taking vitamins lately and everything (but not enough to cause toxicity in anything, so that's not it) so I've got no idea. It's probably nothing, but I'm going to the doctor next monday anyway, so I'll have to ask her then. I'll probably end up having to go get all kinds of bloodwork done because if it hasn't gone away, I'd wager she'd want a hepatic workup. I doubt it's anything, though, because it's not very severe, barely a tinge.

Date: 2007-01-31 05:09 am (UTC)You don't know me but I was scrolling through the Ninth Chevron friends page looking for a summary of the new Stargate episode and saw your post and I may have an answer for you. You could have a little known genetic disease/condition known as Gilbert's Syndrome. I have it too and let me assure you it's a fairly useless syndrome. All it means is that if you get too tired or something you can turn yellow. My friends in college used to try and make me change color until I assured them I was not, in fact, a chameleon and could not do so at will. Anyway just thought you might like to know, here's a link for more information: http://www.medic8.com/healthguide/articles/gilbertsyn.html
Good luck!

But, you know, a genetic disease that's perfectly harmless sounds more or less kind of fun. As long as it's harmless. Again, I need you good.
And did you see House today? o.O There was omg-age

As for House--half the time, I want to kick him, the other half, I'm laughing at him. The other day, there was a rerun where a kid had porphyria and it was freaky when he said it can cause gallstones, since that's what I'm suffering with right now and I've been tested for porphyria in the past (which was inconclusive... gee, thanks). Glad I missed the one you're talking about, though, 'cause I'd probably yell my head off at him. Of course, that can be fun, lol.
