Got a stereo for my birthday.
And I feel totally bad and ungrateful for the fact that I wasn't happy about it. About anything I got, really.
But, honestly, I don't listen to music unless I'm in the car going someplace. And don't need an expensive stereo when I only listen to music in the car. So I might just put off setting it up for a few months until people forget about it and then try to sell it. (Or see if I can return it now, but that's unlikely, as my parents tend to buy things months in advance for birthdays and Christmas and stuff and keep it in the basement until it's time to give it to somebody. I know my MP3 player was down there for more than a year before I got it.)
Kinda disappointing, though, as the only other things I really got were a movie I already have (2 copies of), a jacket that I bought a long time ago (that was taken to the basement and hidden so they could give it to me for my birthday) and fit me then but not now, and a pair of earrings that I can't wear because anything other than gold I'm allergic to.
*Is done whining. Feels like a total bitch for not liking the stuff that was given.*
Saw PotC2. OMGthemusic! I really wish we were playing Pirates again during summer orchestra, because the middle schoolers could play it and it is crazy fun. Well, the full orchestra version is really good, the string orchestra one isn't that good. Anyway, I was just sitting there, and I had to remind myself to actually watch the movie at bits when the cool musicy bits that I know how to play were on (Like the fiddle song during the fight scene at Tortuga? Yeah. I can play that one too.) because I was fingering the notes on the arm rest.
And it was the sex. Because Jack is the sex and Will is the sex and Elizabethwith the short hair is ohmygodthesex.

Date: 2006-07-24 05:41 am (UTC)Ehh, it was fine. I'm just being whiny.
But ficlets are amazing! If you're in a ficlet writing mood. Do you write Firefly? I've been in a Kaylee/Inara place lately.

Date: 2006-07-24 05:44 am (UTC)Elizabeth was just so... rwor in it.
Oh, yes. The whole time, I was just. . . yeah. Wow. (I was a little disapointed, however, that they didn't wrap anything up. I mean, the first one you could just watch, and it answered all your questions and it ended. This one didn't seem to end. It felt like the first part of a two-parter television show, not a whole movie.)

Oh, definitely felt jipped by the ending! But, hey, gotta put butts in the seats for Part III (like THAT would be a problem... ;-D) I guess.
Sidenote from the Useless Trivia side... Elizabeth's hair situation was due to Kiera Knightley's filming of Domino. She had it cut REALLY short for that, so had to wear a wig in this. I thought it was really obvious, but I so didn't care. *loves her as a pirate* ;-D

Date: 2006-07-24 07:09 am (UTC)Oh yeah. Like I was saying to my sister a few days ago, they could put Kiera, Orlando, and Depp in front of a black screen and just have the music playing in the background, and I'd go see it.

Yeah, I was wondering why, if it was only pulled back, it was all shaggy around the front bits. I was like "Hmm, did they actually cut her hair for this?" So now I know. Yay.

Indeeeeed. In the scene at Tortuga, I thought, "Her hair looks just like it did in Domino..." and then I found out on IMDB, I think, that it was because... well... *grin*
You have to admire her range, though. Between playing prim and proper English lady Elizabeth, she went off to play a rough-and-tumble female bounty hunter. *G*
