Saw Aida last night.

The first thing through my mind? The Captain doesn't want to get married and wants to go back on his ship with the boys because he's gay.

The second thing? Aida/Amneris. Even before the captain left Amneris naked and alone on her bed with Aida for company, I was like 'Princess sex would be hot.'

The Amneris was a-freaking-mazing. No kidding. In the intro and extro, she's unbelievably good. But I think the director or someone told her to tone it down when she's singing with Aida, because she seemed very subdued any time they were on stage together. Like she was holding herself back because the director is like "This is Aida's show. Don't upstage her, even though you're a better singer."

And her hair reminded me of Alex Tydings on Xena, so I was calling her Aphrodite until I figured out her name.

I figured out the tutoring thing more or less by calling the school this morning and telling them that I couldn't work. Just said that I couldn't do it, so they'd have to find somebody else. The lady was really pissed until I told her my name, and then she remembered me from when I went to the school and was rather okay with it then. But I was nervous as hell. I hate calling people on the phone, particularly if I don't know them/don't know who's going to pick up.

It's by Tim Rice and Elton John. It was pretty cool, though I'll admit that if the Amneris chick wasn't as good as she was, I probably wouldn't have liked it.

I did not see that. Hee, they broke it? Maybe that's why they didn't ride the revolving stage bit around last night like they did on monday.

I was looking for you, but I didn't see you. Yeah, my mom said the same thing, that she'd trade seats with you so you could sit by me and she could actually see. We went again last (Friday) night. Same bad seats, though.

Well, it was right after intermission started when they were closing the backdrop thing and they ran it into the stairs with this big 'thud'. Maybe it wasn't 'broken' but they certianly messed up <3

I was in the very back. The free seats. We didn't hear that way back there.

We weren't planning on going, just went to pick up my aunt from the airport when her flight got canceled and my mom figured why not go as we were already down there.

Very true. I wanted to go again, just for the beginning to record hear Lisa Brescia do the intro again, but they were like "It's not worth the gas to go down to hear one song." And I'm all "But that's the best part!" And they're like "No."
