Yeah--they definitely didn't strike me as husband-appreciable books, so that's impressive.
It seems like they're pushing the YA rating more and more--sometimes there's more action (of either the violent or smutty type) in those than in comparable adult books. It's usually not to the point of being problematic, but I would balk at how it appears to be a trend towards spicing them up to attract the YA readers rather than for plot's sake. Like when movie producers make the actors go back and loop curse words so they can bump the rating up after the movie's been filmed. It's obviously not happening in all cases, and not always for those reasons, but you've got to wonder.
Yeah, the movie's out there. The version I saw took some major contrast/lightening tweaking on the playback settings of WMP to be halfway watchable, but the sound was decent.
