That's good to hear from somebody that's not my little sister and 12. I'm hoping the books are better, frankly, because while the movie was fun for having it windowed to the side of my Sims game, I think I would have been disappointed had I paid for it. Though it's hard to tell--I wish I hadn't been. . . idk, Vista'd by my friends who'd read the books--I heard all their complaints and was predisposed to dislike it. They had many of the same gripes as you: the characters don't look the same, they aren't true to the book, etc.
Let me know what you think when you do see it. My sister keeps flipflopping between hating it and wanting to go see it six more times, LOL.
