This is the picture (or possibly the one I took right after or before--it was a while ago) that cost me a large puncture wound in my thigh that I didn't notice until coming back inside and going to the bathroom because it was so cold that my leg was numb.
I don't think I ever posted it then, and considering it's a picture of a pretty wicked tree, I figured that had to be remedied. From Febuary or so, back when I went up to the tallest point along the Mississippi River valley to look at eagles.

I want those things back to make knitting needles out of.

I was leaning way into it, trying to get a shot straight up through the needles, LOL. There were virtually no branches on that thing until really high up, which prevented the climbing. All of the trees, really. I would have liked to to get an ever better shot of the surrounding area from up higher, but since it was icy and none of the trees had leaves (naturally, as it was winter) so you couldn't tell what was alive and what was dead, it would have been an entire mess of dangerous.
