Had alternating/combined toothache and migraine all day today. Oddly enough, they both stopped right about at 11pm. I'm maintaining that it's because I refuse to be miserable on my birthday.

Found DH on the internets last night, read up to chapter 33 (I've been timing myself on this one and I've been reading it killer fast, which is interesting, because I'm doing the opposite of skimming; I'm doing the voices for everything in my head for most bits). Stopped, though, because I had realized that reading it on the computer was making it less real. I had resolved as soon as I started looking for a computer copy that I was going to stop when I got to the end and read the last chapter in the actual paper book, but then I decided to change back earlier (actually, around chapter 27, but as I was carrying the laptop back to the front room, I got hooked into the next chapter and had to read more). I had to remind myself several times that it was the actual book I was reading, and not just some excellent epic-length fic, which is when I finally made myself stop reading (earlier it wouldn't have been as much of a problem, but when we got into the action, it became nearly impossible to put down).

Nat Tena in the behind-the-scenes interview clips in the OotP computer game (whenever you get certain amounts of "discovery points", you can go into this room and watch interview bits) is hotsecks. Her hair makes me lol because it's all spiky and fun (and she's not in costume or anything; it's just her hair). She looks her actual age there; idk why, but in the movie I think she looks a lot older than she is, which is what actually made me not crazy about her in the beginning, because Tonks was supposed to be really young.

I got a new watchband. Because the one on the big clunky watch I inherited from my dad had the little crossband that you slip the extra length through broken off a few months after I got it. I kept using it like that forever, though, with different cords and rubber bands and tape working as makeshift band-holder-downer things and sometimes nothing at all, letting the extra band length flop freely beyond the buckle. But dad came home with one on Friday, and then fussed with it because it was a little too wide for the watch (involving scissors and a multitude of matches to burn closed the cut part of the acrylic so it didn't unravel) until he got it on. V. nice of him, I thought. I'm only thinking about it now because it's bugging me a bit, though. The edges are rather rough. I'll have to take a picture of it, though, because it will take me ages to try and make up the words to describe it. It's quite odd, suffice it to say.

A giant spider just crawled across the wall behind the computer monitor. Odd. Not giant so much as. . . thick, I suppose.

I must find the cord for the camera and put up pictures from the Deathly Hallows release. The camera got accidentally left at home, sadly, as I had planned to take it to the bookstore with me, but we had gotten a couple of the three of us before we left. I got blackmailed, somehow, into dressing up as Bellatrix, so that was rather fun. I actually was in the top 5 of the costume contest--mostly because my hair turned out much better than I expected it to--which was hilarious, because the judges pick the top 5 but the people cheer-vote for the winner, so it becomes a how-many-people-in-the-audience-know-you contest, and as the group of people that showed up that went to my school were off in the back somewhere, I had my brother, sister, and this girl Kaylee whom I met (or who met me, rather; she came up to me when I was barely 10 feet in the door and started asking about my costume. She was quite nice, we ended up hanging out the rest of the night, though I can confidently say that I would never have been that bold myself, to just walk up to someone like that) yelling at the top of their lungs (obviously trying quite hard, though, as they were by no means the quietest bunch of voters).

I got another whopping headache this morning and spent most of the day in bed, so I sympathize.

I've said it in my LJ, but I'll say it again: HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I read DH killer fast, too. I had it finished in a little over thirteen hours. My mum says it wouldn't surprise her if I hardly realised what was going on at that speed (though she's prolly jealous because we started at the same time and she was something like 6 chapters behind when she went to bed), but it was quite the opposite. I took in everything perfectly fine, and even managed to guess things before they happened.

Thick, hairy spiders creep me out. I still get forced to catch them and throw them outside, though.

UPLOAD THOSE PICTURE LIKE, NOW, KTHNX. I now have a thing for Bellatrix. I haven't even seen her in OOTP, but I've always liked her. Hot, evil women make me happy in my pants. I nearly imploded when - shit. I almost gave something away. Howait. I think you've read past what I was going to mention. Still, I'mma shut up now.

Thanks much, bb!

I nearly imploded when - shit.

No, which was the implosion? I finished it finally yesterday. (My sister couldn't refuse to hand it to me on my birthday, LOL.)

My mum says it wouldn't surprise her if I hardly realised what was going on at that speed

Everybody always says that to me. Tis annoying, because they then sometimes dedicate themselves to picking out one tiny bit that I did miss and holding it over my head as proof that I don't really read. I'm still going to read it again, though, because I haven't really formed an opinion on the book though. (Though I've most definitely formed opinions on specific goings-on in the book, thank you JKR.)

I now have a thing for Bellatrix. I haven't even seen her in OOTP, but I've always liked her. Hot, evil women make me happy in my pants.

Yesyesyesyes! Me too. And I've been like that FOREVER which is lolarious. Though in OotP, she's a bit more . . . idk, crazy than I would have liked. I mean, I understand why they do her that way, but I saw her slightly more sane, especially if she's able to take on every auror and their brother and beat them. Though if she could take on every auror and their brother and beat them when she was nutsified after Azkaban, that only puts major coolness on her before she was Azkabaned. Either way, she's just about the most powerful female we've got in the books, in a purely magical sense. (Though McGonagall could kick her ass, given the chance, IMO. McGonagall can kick everybody's ass.)

But yes. The pictures. There's only like one that's semi-decent, and the dress is still not that flattering, but will do. (Idk if I'll put them up for public viewing, LOL, but you'll see them.)

You're welcome! Did you get my present? (http://xx-housecat-xx.livejournal.com/111154.html) (I wanted to give you SOMETHING, at least. For now.)

I'm still going to read it again, though, because I haven't really formed an opinion on the book

I think I'll do that too. Because I went so fast I didn't really form many opinions on individual events, just on the book as a whole. Plus (as much as I hate to admit) I don't have as much of an understanding of everything than I would like. Although, that could be because I didn't get a lot of HBP.

Whoa... I just made the comment box expand? :\\\

I've most definitely formed opinions on specific goings-on in the book, thank you JKR

LIKE THAT EPILOGUE? I MEAN, MY GOD. I AM SO TEMPTED TO RIP THAT OUT. Only not.

Though in OotP, she's a bit more . . . idk, crazy than I would have liked

INORITE! I imagined her crazy, but way more suave-like and collected as well. Kind of like... okay, I can't think of an example. But book!Bellatrix was way hotter in that sense. Still liked movie!Bellatrix, though. She's such a lol nutcase.

she's just about the most powerful female we've got in the books, in a purely magical sense

Which only adds to her hotness, amirite?

I've also started shipping her with Voldemort as well as Tonks.

Lol McGonagall.

YAY, PICTURES. I'm trufax excited because I don't know what you look like!
You have sent me a picture of yourself before, have you not? It was in a comment, and you were showing me what colour your hair was... idk. Was a long time ago.

I did, I did. I hadn't gotten around to commenting on it until just now because I've fallen quite behind on my commenting. Which is not unusual for me, but is odd for the fact that I'm not so much doing anything this summer as not.

I MEAN, MY GOD. I AM SO TEMPTED TO RIP THAT OUT.

YESYESYES. THAT IS LOATHE. That and the entire book was too much about dumb Harry. I don't like Harry. I never really have. I like McGonagall and Tonks and Bellatrix and Remus and Sirius and everybody else that gets billed after the main trio. They're what really make the stories work, and they were all rather absent this book; even when they were there, it was just to highlight something about Harry most of the time. Same with this OOTP movie, which is why it's pretty low on my list of favorite HP movies.

I imagined her crazy, but way more suave-like and collected as well.

Yah. If she's a total nutjob, how could she do the work?

Still liked movie!Bellatrix, though.

HBC is just excellent for the part. I heard also that she's responsible for all the hot; there was something in some paper my dad read bits of to me about the movie, and supposedly Bella originally was going to wear that Azkaban prison sackdress the entire time, and HBC was all "Let me introduce you to a whole new world of HELL NO Bella's totally got to vamp it up."

I've also started shipping her with Voldemort as well as Tonks.

HELL YES. I mean, how could you not with Voldemort, after DH. And Tonks just because of the pretty.

I'm trufax excited because I don't know what you look like!

Rly? I could have sworn. . . yeah, the one in the comment. Because I had to resize that one like 6 times to try and get it semi-fittable. Twas a long time ago, indeed.

But yes. There are like 3 pictures, and the one I've got isn't the best one for the hair, but it's the most decent one for the non-flattering dress, so that's the one I'm going to start resizing.

FIRSTLY, I SCOURED MY JOURNAL AND THEN YOUR JOURNAL, AND I FOUND THE PICTURE. It was in a comment to [livejournal.com profile] tamianity, but it was the exact same picture. SO YAY FOR THAT.
And now I'm studying every inch of the picture, lol, as I tend to do.
YOU HAVE THE CUTEST SMILE. I seriously want your smile. When I do a toothy grin I look retarded. Unless I've been caught laughing or joking around.
WHEE, VIOLIN.

You're not off the hook as far as that Bellatrix!picture goes, though. *smirk*

They're what really make the stories work, and they were all rather absent this book

INORITE. Even at Bill's wedding! I like Hermione and Ron, but mostly when they're all together. Individually I don't really like them all that much. But I agree, she "lesser" characters really make the story.

If she's a total nutjob, how could she do the work?

Exactly. Luck could've only taken her so far.

Whee, pictures.

YOU HAVE THE CUTEST SMILE.

Hee, thanks! Though it is made of annoying, as far as dentists are concerned.

Unless I've been caught laughing or joking around.

Yeah, it's hard to look decent with a fake smile. Some people do it really well, most do not. There was a girl a few years older than me that lived two houses down when I was littler, and both she and her little sister thought all you had to do to smile when someone told you to was to show your teeth. So, imagine that you're just trying to give the best view of your front 4 teeth possible--that was the smile. It used to bug the fool out of me; I tried and tried to teach them that that wasn't how you were supposed to smile for pictures, but no such luck.

WHEE, VIOLIN.

*cough* Viola. We get picky about this, as violins always get all the glory. I mean, srsly, have you ever heard of a famous violist?

You're not off the hook as far as that Bellatrix!picture goes, though. *smirk*

Is up! I actually did it, LOL.

I like Hermione and Ron, but mostly when they're all together. Individually I don't really like them all that much.

I've become much less interested in the trio as I've gotten older. In the beginning books, it was all Hermione is the smart, kinda snotty one, and Ron is the comic relief. Later, she just added a bit of sexual tension. I never felt like either of them were being used to their full potential as characters. Though I like them both, we rarely ever see them without Harry, and then it's automatically all about him. Whom I don't like.

cough* Viola

DAMNIT. I was going to say "WHEE VIOLIN/VIOLA" because I remembered you mentioning being able to play the viola a few times, but then I thought you said you could play the violin as well, and my instrument recognising skills aren't that great with the smaller string types, particularly when I can only see the bottom corner of it. *sigh*

I never felt like either of them were being used to their full potential as characters

I totally agree with this. And the Harry thing. Stupid Harry. WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST STAY DEAD.

From: [identity profile] crashcart9.livejournal.com
I thought you said you could play the violin as well

I do. That is unduly confusing, I suppose, and not your fault in the slightest. My primary has always been the viola, though; I only really do the violin/cello/bass if I'm needed to (to help a little kid or to fill a part) or if I'm just fooling around.

particularly when I can only see the bottom corner of it.

Ahh, I've got about 4 differently cropped versions of that, I didn't know that it wasn't so much visable as not.

WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST STAY DEAD.

YAH, BECAUSE THEN YOU WOULD NOT BE MADE OF ANNOYING AND THE EPILOGUE WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED AND HERMIONE WOULD ANGST INTO THE ARMS OF GINNY AND/OR (preferably 'and') TONKS AND THERE WOULD BE SECKS. (Everything comes down to girlsex. It's like that song from the Scrubs musical, "Everything Comes Down To Poo", except less crude and with lesbians.)

So true.

AND YOU WATCH SCRUBS? DO YOU? I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE TO LOVE YOU MORE.
I haven't seen that episode (though we recently bought season 4 and 5 on DVD, and I haven't even watched half of them) but that entire show is made of gay. SO MUCH GAY. I love it.

Ooh, you play bass, as in, the guitar?

Sadly, no, though as it's mostly the same as the upright/acoustic bass (easier, actually, because you've got the frets, so you always know where to put your fingers), I most likely could.

AND YOU WATCH SCRUBS?

Not very often, sadly, but on occasion. That's Survivor's timeslot, you see, and my mum and sister get into that show. I'm only ever able to boot them off when things happen like Lucy Lawless is on the show or Survivor's a rerun, something like that. I like massive quantities of medicine in my medical shows, which is why that one was never top on my list, but tis enjoyable.

SO MUCH GAY.

Rly? On a regular basis? I've seen it in the random episodes I catch (I mean, come on, one of their songs was titled "Guylove" and is made of homosexuality), but they play with it a lot?

Yeah, I get that. It has some medical jargon and whatever, but overall it's way too far-fetched and immature to be taken seriously. I'm not usually a fan of the more slapstick types of comedy, but for some reason this show makes me laugh harder than any other. It's so light and fresh.

Hehe. Well. As the seasons progress there're more and more gay comments between/about Turk and JD. I posted a few videos in my LJ a few entries back, and one of them is a classic example of the constant gay.
And Elliot has had her fair share of gayness. She's all neurotic and straight as they come (or claims to be), but she's given a female patient an orgasm during a pelvic exam (that video was in my post too), and been involved in at least two lesbian fantasies of JD's. No wait, three.
And it's just the kind of show where gay pops up between everybody. There're hardly any ships that would be considered totally anti-canon.

I mean, come on, one of their songs was titled "Guylove" and is made of homosexuality

LOL. I am all of a sudden reminded of JD and Turk. There isn't even one example, because they're always up with the gay. Or "guylove", sorry.

It's so funny you should say this. I was on a quest for Bellatrix/Tonks over at [livejournal.com profile] hp_girlslash (AND, AFTER LOOKING A SOETHING LIKE THREE COMMS, FF.NET AND SOME OTHER SITE, I HAVE FOUND NOTHING EXCEPT FICS WHERE BELLATRIX TRIES TO CORRUPT CHILD!TONKS. IN HER MIND. NOT IN HER PANTS. FAIL. I AM STILL DUMBSTRUCK OVER THAT. HOW COULD THERE BE NO BELLATRIX/TONKS?), and I stumbled across a Bellatrix/Hermione non-con that was quite well-writen, I have to say. I would have loved it way more if the manor!Death Eaters weren't standing around watching (including Draco and Wormtail and Lucius and UGH) but when you concentrated on Bellarix it was pretty hot. I want that author to write another Bellatrix/anyone girlsmut.

I AM STILL DUMBSTRUCK OVER THAT. HOW COULD THERE BE NO BELLATRIX/TONKS?)

IDK. I came up with some last night that made me smile while I was most decidedly not falling asleep, though. And that was happy. But then I lost it. I just remember coming up with one. Isn't that the sadness.

I stumbled across a Bellatrix/Hermione non-con that was quite well-writen, I have to say.

Rly? Actually, I read a bit of non-con stuff myself yesterday. Harry/Lucius, though. It was intriguing, because it was sort of paradoxical--it felt just like shitty teenage angst fic, but was well written, actually to the point of being. . . enjoyable's not the right word, but you know. Decent. Which ended up being bad because it was triggering as fuck, and yet I wanted to keep reading it, LOL.

Only... she said "cunt" too much.

Ooh. I'm not so much a fan of that one as not. Occasionally, perhaps, but not lots. Ergh.

I'm not sure, actually. I think I stopped reading.

BUT I HAVE TO TELL YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO. I ACTUALLY FOUND A TONKS/BELLATRIX FIC THAT I LOVED SO HARD I ACTUALLY PRINTED IT OFF. I HAVEN'T DONE THAT TO A FIC THAT ISN'T MINE, LIKE, EVER. It's so hot, with the whole Tons' crush on Bellatrix thing. Because I totally get it. I haven't had a crush on an aunty (that I can remember) but I've had crushes on teachers and other older people.
I'll have to find it and link you to it.

But then I lost it. I just remember coming up with one

That exact same thing happened to me. DDD:

enjoyable's not the right word, but you know. Decent

YTeah, that's what the Bellatrix/Hermione was like. I found Bellarix really hot, because I just love her, but overall it wuld have better without so much humiliation. If Bellatrix had've taken her somewhere else and done the ravaging thing, yeah. Explosions. But not with the Malfoys etc. there! *shudders*
Though Draco really didn't want to watch or whatever, which actually made me like him, for some reason. He totally didn't belong there. You can tell in the book, even.

Which ended up being bad because it was triggering as fuck, and yet I wanted to keep reading it, LOL

YESYESYES EVERYTHING YOU SAID AND MORE. I'd totally print that out myself if I wasn't afraid that somebody would find it. (Not that I haven't printed out girlypr0n loads of times before, but it's the incest and bits of noncon that push it over into the "something I would prolly kill myself if found with" category.) So being put in my del.icio favorites and saved onto the hard drive must suffice.

And you know what? The first scene in there, with the (somewhat) chaste kiss on the lips? That ttly made me remember bits of my non-fic/short scene thing I came up with, because that was in it. The kiss, I mean. Sort of. Idk.

Now my bunny 'du thingy' is Hermione/Tonks because I just started writing it a few hours ago and then stopped when I decided to answer comments instead. As answering comments is a time-consuming task.
