Today? Not a bad day. I actually scrounged up a bunch of courage and told the guy that pays me at volleyball that I want paid double when I'm the only one working. Which was quite often last session (though I don't expect him to pay me for those) and looks to be every time this session. So yeah, it's looking like I'm making $20 an hour now. Sweet. Go me. I was proud that I actually did it.
And I was making bread to give to Amanda as a Christmas present (because this is the first time I've been unsick to make food since the week before Christmas) and I made it all up before I left and let it rise while I was working and came back and baked it. And I broke a bit off before baking and threw that in there along with the main bread (in this special little tube thing I found that makes like frenchy loaved bread, all with the long skinnyness) so I could taste it and not give it to her if it sucked, but I just got it out and ate some of the little broken off bit, and it's actually really good. Score two for me.
Had a lot of stuff I was supposed to do over the weekend and didn't, so this week is going to be hell. But I'm not going to think about that.
My lips have been splitting like nobody's business these past few days. Grr. Tis annoying. And painful.
Edit: Hee, except for that mood icony bit looks like she's sick, not like she's saying yum, bread. So we'll swap that.

And re: bread: Yay for it tasting nice. I would have blown something up, but that's just me. Or if I was really lucky the bread would have just come out flat or resembling coal, as opposed to coming out in little pieces and on fire.

Usually? Me so much too. I've got no idea what got into me to make me able to do that.

I tend to also, which is why I was so surprised. Actually, that's not fair. I'm not that bad, I'm just thinking that I am because the last time I tried to bake something, I burned it. I figured it'd be passable, I just didn't expect it to be really good. Which was yay. I'm going to have to make some for myself now.

Yeah, that's what happened to me a lot. But then, my dad found this thing that said "yeah, if you use filtered/distilled water, the yeast works a lot better", which makes sense, because the chlorine and stuff in water to kill germs would impede the function of yeast, being a bacteria (I think) and all. So since we started using good water, the bread is a lot less flat. Though this one was sort of flat anyway because I had to fix how it was in the tube after it had been rising, which more or less punched it down. Making it pretty dense, but good, as I'm not so much a fan of bread that's mostly air.

Date: 2007-01-25 11:09 am (UTC)*snort* Doesn't feel like it. I posted, like, three the other day? I think I'm going to keep going now, though. Because I'm lonely. And almost unbearably hot, although that would probably be a reason for not posting comments. And you've got school *nods*

Me neither. I like bread I can really sink my teeth into. I particularly like the Italian loaves, the ones that have that awesomely chewy crust.

Date: 2007-02-20 05:04 am (UTC)Cuddles for the first, ice for the second, and growls at the third, as we had a three day weekend because of President's Day today, and I still haven't done any work. At all. None of the back work I needed to do, none of the review packet for my big Chem test on Thursday and Friday that I pretty much need to ace to keep myself from getting a C in there (because between that big project that I got graded on everybody's parts of and that ended up sucking and the fact that I missed every day that the teacher taught the last section and as such got like a D on the last test, I've got crappy grades in there).

Ooh, yeah. You know, I was listening to the people on this movie that we had to watch in theatre, and they were speaking a lot in Italian, and I realized that I could understand more than I thought I would, what with english cognates and Spanish cognates and all. Twas surprising, just in that I was like "Ooh, he just told that guy to go stage right! Omigosh, I just understood that he told the guy to go stage right! Wicked!"
