The Enterprise finale was just on. I only caught the last bit of it, as SG-1 season 2 came in to the library for me, so I've been trying to watch as many of those this weekend as I can, but now I'm all caught in a pique of reminiscence. Or whatever. I was just thinking, now and last week when my brother was watching Voyager's "Endgame", how the Enterprise finale was very disappointing.

I really didn't like it at all. The Next Generation's finale ("All Good Things. . .") was very much a group thing, them as a family with the poker at the end and everything, and it tied in things from the very first episode. Voyager's was a very interesting story (if I close my eyes at the Chakotay/Seven and Torres/Paris bits). (I haven't seen the TOS or DS9 finales as I've seen very little of those two shows.) "These are the Voyages. . ." was way too much about Riker.

And when even the actors, even the guest stars are complaining about the writing, you know something's wrong. I remember reading about Jolene Blalock (who, by the way, I was looking at and have decided that she has one of the best butts on TV. Hell, she's got one of the best bodies on TV.) saying that she hated the part where she had to say that at one point she (T'Pol) could have thought of nothing else than following rules, and that Jo thought it was unbelievably out of character and really didn't like the finale at all. And Frakes and Sirtis talking about how their presence in the episode was more of an intrusion (though I like how they tied it into the TNG episode) and that it split up the family feeling that was so present in the TNG finale.

But the end, where Riker and Troi walk off the holodeck and it cuts to the outside of the Enterprise 1701-D, and Picard's voice starts in with the "These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise" and it cuts to the 1701, and then to the NX-01, all with the different captains continuing the speech, I liked that part. However, even though it was talking about the voyages of Enterprise, I think that it being the last episode of the last show most likely forever (thinking about that always makes me sad), it would have been nice to tie in DS9 and Voyager too somehow.

Anyway, that's my story. Just what I was thinking about. I've got a humongous amount of homework, so I've got to get to sleep so I have a chance of finishing it tomorrow.
