Ketamine = NOT magical go-back-in-time infarction-never-happened drug.

I think that the whole thing is going to continuously annoy me next season.

I've started just shaking my head every time I see the promos because I hate when TV shows screw up medicine.

(However, I do not turn the channel when the promos come on like my mother told me to do if they annoy me so much, because crying!Cuddy is the prettiest and saddest thing ever all at the same time.)

I didn't think Cuddy was all that pretty when I first started watching 'House' but now I've found she has a very special look. She is a pretty woman and it is so sad to see her cry!!

As for the medicine thing...IT PISSES ME OFF!!!! SOME OF HIS THIGH IS STILL MISSING, PEOPLE!! YOU DON'T WAKE UP AFTER LIMPING FOR 6 YEARS AND SAY, "I think I'll go for a run today!"

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I just went "OMG powerful woman doctor I want to be you if I ever graduate" and my thinking she was pretty went from there.

YOU DON'T WAKE UP AFTER LIMPING FOR 6 YEARS AND SAY, "I think I'll go for a run today!"

I absolutely and totally concur. That's the worst part, I'm not even in medical school yet and I still am able to sit at the TV and yell at the people on shows when they try to do things that don't work.

I understand that they needed to get rid of the limp for Hugh's health. I still think that they could have come up with a more plausable way of doing it, maybe saying that during his recovery from the shooting they made him do physio and that helped a whole lot or something. This fakey remedy is just stupid.

TOTALLY know that feeling...and I just started college...EEK! I must say my thinking of her being pretty stems from when she is in her lab coat and has her normal curly hair. She's so pretty then...*smacks self* I sorry, not meaning to gush or anything. GAH!

I'm not even in medical school yet and I still am able to sit at the TV and yell at the people on shows when they try to do things that don't work.
I know! I don't know much about medicine (being more into history, philosphy, politics and languages, myself) and I'm not the greatest when it comes to science, but I do know general phsyiology and I know muscles do NOT regrow. A chunk of his thigh is GONE he will NOT be able to run around. I can understand a small limp perhaps...something that wouldn't injure Hugh but still seem plausable.

My mom and I were actually discussing it, she was going to go to medschool but preferred Chemistry, and she just says it has to be a continuation of the hallucinations because even someone who is as crappy at medicine and science as me knows better. She said, and I quote, "That's stupid. I ought to write to the creators of the show and tell them to fire the 3 year olds who are doing the medical research consultants on muscle death."

It is stupid, couldn't they come up with something a little more realistic?

Hee, lab coats are the sex. I have a lab coat. And I wear it for fun.

I sorry, not meaning to gush or anything.

The pretty inspires much with the gushing. And gushing about the pretty is always welcome.

"That's stupid. I ought to write to the creators of the show and tell them to fire the 3 year olds who are doing the medical research consultants on muscle death."

When I first heard that they were talking about losing the limp, I had the same reaction. I actually started a letter to their doctor consultant person (but didn't finish it, just like everything I write).

I do know general phsyiology and I know muscles do NOT regrow.

I'm not sure whether to pity them for being so unbelievably dense or be angry at them for thinking that we wouldn't notice. I'm leaning towards the latter, however.

I've been in notquiteyetamedstudentland practically since I was born. I got my first copy of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine when I was 10 and carried it around with me to read during downtime all through 6th grade. So I tend to catch the little medical mistakes too. But this is such a basic concept that they're defying that everyone is going to notice, and they expect us not to care.

Oh, yes it does!! I can go on and on about prettyness but I won't...Well, maybe I shall. You know 'Firefly' right? Inara is SO PRETTY...she and Cuddy have similar curly hair. Did I mention I think that that is pretty? I'm such a girl *shakes head* I gush too much. I apologize...back to coherent thought.

When I first heard that they were talking about losing the limp, I had the same reaction. I actually started a letter to their doctor consultant person (but didn't finish it, just like everything I write).

You should write something. I shall help you if you like...but perhaps it would be best to see how they try and explain it first. Then point out all the inconsistencies. *rolls eyes*

Wow...sounds like you've wanted to be a doctor for forever!!! What is it you're interested in?

I'm actually wearing it in my photo on my driver's permit, and it makes me laugh. The one I have is a short coat, and I want a long one, but it still is all up with the sex.

Inara is SO PRETTY...she and Cuddy have similar curly hair.

Oh yes. The dark and the curly is just really nice looking. Ahh, Firefly. That show has lots of pretty.

perhaps it would be best to see how they try and explain it first. Then point out all the inconsistencies.

Indeed. If they do explain it.

sounds like you've wanted to be a doctor for forever

Pretty much. My parents say that it was the first and only thing I ever mentioned wanting to do. My specialty of choice changed, I used to want to be a cardiovascular and neurosurgeon, but switched around age 8 to wanting to be an ER doctor, which is where I've stayed since. I realized that just being a specific specialty would probably get boring, but in the ER you get a little bit of everything. Plus, when people come in, you don't know what's wrong with them, and you've got to figure that out first. It's kinda a puzzle.

Oh, yes, yes it does! I love the show and it's a bonus to see the pretty on it. *sniggles*

Ooo, ER. That sounds like hard work to me. Very intense. It's awesome that you've known for so long what it is you want to do! Lucky you!!! I've always wanted to do something with social science of some sort but there are so many to choose from!! Right now my major is declared as Political Science but I'm considering anthropology instead. *sigh*

Right now my major is declared as Political Science but I'm considering anthropology instead.

You know, those are two things that (were I not pretty much set and afraid that if I do anything else, I'll regret not being a doctor for the rest of my life) I could consider majoring in. Forensic anthro is fun, and I've been all up with the politicalness this election season. That's very cool that you're doing that.

Once you get your degree (in whichever), what do you think you are going to do with it?

Just a question before I answer yours:

Do you have MSN or some other IM we could talk on? It'd be cool to have conversations in an easier fashion. You don't have to give it to me, of course. Just wondering. :)

Well, I want to do SO MANY THINGS with those degrees. If I went with anthropology I'd really want to travel and learn about people in other cultures. Particularly India. I'd go on to get my Ph.D in anthropology and for my doctorate I'd really want to go abroad for the studies. If not in India, then in Indonesia. I'm just fascinated by the culture.

If I go the political science route I have a BUNCH of different things I'd like to do. Mostly I'd want to go into law and become a district attorney. If not that, then I'd want to get my Ph.D in political science and work for the government as an agent or in a foreign embassy. All of these things, and many more, appeal to me.

I've been all up with the politicalness this election season.

Don't even get me started *screams*

I actually don't. I did at one point have Trillian, but something screwed up and now it crashes my computer every time I try to load it. And I don't usually talk to anyone anyway, so I never bothered to try and figure out why.

I'd go on to get my Ph.D in anthropology

Hee, lots and lots of schooling like me. Do you ever get the feeling that you're going to be in school (and/or paying off school loans) for all of your life?

I'd want to go into law and become a district attorney.

Eee, another thing I've thought about. And foreign embassy work sounds really cool too; I think foreign policy and negotiations and diplomacy and stuff are some of the coolest things about politics.

Hee, lots and lots of schooling like me. Do you ever get the feeling that you're going to be in school (and/or paying off school loans) for all of your life?

God, yes! I feel like I'm going to be an old hag once I get out of there! Of course, I don't care too much because it'll just be the best experience ever. I can take all kinds of obscure and crazy classes. My friends actually make fun of me, telling me I'll be so overqualified with everything I want to take. I'm excited. School like this makes me happy. It's my parents that did it, my dad's an oceanography professor and my mom's a chemist. School is very important in my house and I have picked up. :)

I think foreign policy and negotiations and diplomacy and stuff are some of the coolest things about politics.

Me too!! I'm also incredibly interested in human rights.

Exactly. Because even though I'm going for a medical degree, I'd also like to know about stuff like polysci and history and literature and things.

My friends actually make fun of me, telling me I'll be so overqualified with everything I want to take.

Yup. A couple of years ago, I went through a college course selection book and went "okay, I want to take that class, and this class. . ." and highlighted it all up, and my mom looks over my shoulder and goes "And how do you expect to pay for the 20 years worth of classes you've got circled?"

School is very important in my house and I have picked up.

Same here: both parents are teachers. (Which makes summers cool, but you're always roped into grading papers.)

I'm also incredibly interested in human rights.

Okay, now this is just funny. I'm copresident of our Amnesty International and in the leading council of our Liberal Union thing. So very much with the me too.

I know! I'm going to look at astronomy and things like that because I think it's important to know a little about everything. I don't want to focus solely on one thing just because I think it's important to be well rounded and open-minded.

Yup. A couple of years ago, I went through a college course selection book and went "okay, I want to take that class, and this class. . ." and highlighted it all up

LOL! I did something SO similar!! I printed out a paper with all of the classes offered to freshmen and sophmores at my school and put Xs next to all the classes I wanted to take. After I did that, I realized I'd have to be a lowerclassman for four years and do summer classes to take all the subjects I want!

Which makes summers cool, but you're always roped into grading papers.

Oh, my friend has to do a VERY similar thing! It's actually fun to watch them grade because you see what the teachers really think about their students. *snickers* I'm so bad!

I'm copresident of our Amnesty International and in the leading council of our Liberal Union thing.

Woot!! Go you! What is the Liberal Union thing exactly? I can guess what it is by the name but the only Liberal Union I can think of is the Dutch LU from the 1800's.

In high school I was part of 'Young Democrats' and 'Open Alliance Club'.

Oh yes. Everyone who thinks that teachers don't talk about their students when they get home is crazy wrong. I know the names of 3 of my father's students already and his school only started yesterday.

In high school I was part of 'Young Democrats'

That's basically what our liberal union is. We just call it that so as not to be all obviously partisan and such. We were really active in 2004 with the elections, now it's more social awareness programs and stuff.

What's the Open Alliance Club?

Oh yes. If all I knew was politics, or whatever it is I decide to go into, what would we say if I knew about nothing else. I'd better hope I married (if it's legal then)to someone who's into the same profession as me otherwise it would be pretty boring. Even then it would get old fast. You need other interests in your life, passions even.

I know the names of 3 of my father's students already and his school only started yesterday.

Oh, man! They must either be evil or amazing!! What grade does your dad teach? I've got a younger sister who is now a sophmore in high school. She started school Monday and is already complaining about her, 'nasty teachers'.

We were really active in 2004 with the elections, now it's more social awareness programs and stuff.

Ahh, cool! That sounds great! They have a politcal awarness club at the University my dad works at and even though he doesn't have time to be involved all year round, he gets involved during elections. He and other members in the club go to the houses of registered democrats who are elderly and poor so as to encourage them to go to the polls. They drive them and help them get information about the elections and candidates that they may not get because of whatever reason.

Open Alliance Club

It was pretty much the same as Gay Straight Alliance but our school refused to allow us to have one. I live in Florida and the school was just WAY too conservative to allow us to have something like that! *rolls eyes* We had to come up with something that wasn't too obvious.

The first one. XD My dad used to teach 7th grade history, but this year was switched (I say 'was' because he didn't exactly have a choice in the matter; he had his gifted teaching certification, so they said go teach) to middle school gifted and 7th grade literature. My mom does gifted too, elementary school.

They drive them and help them get information about the elections and candidates that they may not get because of whatever reason.

Ahh, my school is much the same way. (Missouri's such a frakking red state.) Our liberal union and Amnesty are tiny, and the GSA both had to be called something else and never really got off the ground.

Yeah, that sucks. I know that because of the shortage of teachers it's a lot harder for teachers to get the grades they want.

What did those kids do!?

I'll have to find out if anyone around me does that, and maybe see if our people want to.

I think it's a great idea too! Next election is the gubernatorial election. Unlucky me is ruled by both Bush's. *angry sigh* At least one of them will be gone soon...just not the one I'd like to be gone.

Sorry...I didn't mean to go off a little on you.

Our liberal union and Amnesty are tiny, and the GSA both had to be called something else and never really got off the ground.

That's too bad. The Open Alliance didn't really have a lot of members either. Most of them were straight and just wanted to offer support so it kind of just became a group of friends that would meet.

Ahh, the requisite couple that show up on the first day with nothing, think they're unbelievably funny and like to share their 'gift' in the middle of class, or decide not to show up to class and get caught.

Sorry...I didn't mean to go off a little on you.

Ehh, it's totally okay. One of my friends especially is very politically minded and tends to rant on the latest thing [insert politician's name here] did or didn't do. And I do it all the time too.
Grr for having two Bushes. Think the other one has a chance of being beaten this race?

Most of them were straight and just wanted to offer support

That's what virtually all of the people who showed up to the couple meetings we had were. And the student in charge really only wanted it to be a group of friends, and had no plans for meetings or whatever, so it wasn't a horrible thing that it died. The liberal union pretty much does the kind of things that it would do regarding awareness and tolerance and stuff, so it's not a total loss.

Nothing as in no supplies? 'Cause I'm thinking of the idiot in my high school who decided to show up in boxers and an undershirt one day. He would have come naked and later brought in a 'strip tease' video to show us as 'art'. Man, that boy was stupid but he sure as hell was amusing.

Grr for having two Bushes. Think the other one has a chance of being beaten this race?

He can't run again. Like his brother, this is his last term...THANK WHATEVER HIGH POWERS MIGHT EXIST! Hopefully the republican nitwit won't win. I'm bugging all of my friends to go vote.

Yeah, it might have been for the best if nothing had been planned. Our meetings were nice. There were only about 12 of us and so we'd go to the park and things, or out for coffee. It was a lot of fun to be together. Of course, it sucked when we told people in our community what we were a part of. *shudders*

Definitely. A couple of our senators have some pretty promising democratic opposition too, so this could turn out well.

That does sound nice. The GSA that was at my school my freshmanish year (before it died and it's replacement died too) was pretty much like that.

Well, I hope it works well!! I'm so hopeful that the democrats will win. We need to get rid of the Stupid FCAT that Jeb Bush established. It's so crazy. He's SUCH an idiot...though not quite as stupid as his brother.

I would go out to vote too, but I can't. My 18th birthday isn't until the end of November...unfortunately. Oh well, I can vote in the next presidential election...in over 800 days. *sigh*

And with that, I'm off to bed, as I've got class starting Tuesday and really need to learn to get up early again.
