I dislike how all the newspapers and TV newspeople and everyone are making it seem like the whole power outage thing (if you didn't hear about that, something like 600,000 people were without power after a big storm on the 19th, some still after more than a week) is the fault of Ameren UE (the power company).
The outage was not their fault. No matter how well built your power structures/lines are, if a big tree falls on the line, it's going to break. If a tree falls on the power box thingie, it's going to break. When the storm is so bad that the roof off of a hangar at the airport blows off, things are going to break, and power is going to fail.
There were power people from 9 different states in St. Louis trying to get everything fixed quickly. I imagine it's hard to get power back to 600,000 people. But they were trying. And it was not their fault.
I hate how we have to blame everything on somebody.
