Hottest day of the year so far here and virtually all of St. Louis is without power. It was 103 today, plus whatever heat index.
We've still got power by some miraculous twist of fate. That storm last night was crazy bad. Tornado touched down not far from Katie's house, and part of the roof of a hangar at the airport got blown off onto somewhere.
Bad.
Sometime between 2ish last night and 8ish this morning, our phone line got pulled out or off or something. The people came around to fix it this afternoon (we don't know when they did it, but it was fixed by 5 because my grandparents called around then to tell us that they got to the hotel on their way back home). I thought it was funny that there was this whole big storm, and then it's after the storm that our phone line screws up.
So Katie's without power,
saturn_hime is without power, so that kinda puts a damper on our whole little party thing. Curses.
The people across the street from us have no power either. This is crazy. There's one street in our whole little block thing with power, and I happen to live on it. I think it was the universe trying to make sure I didn't die of heatstroke before my birthday. Yay, universe. Thanks.
