It was an ontd_startrek thing; they called it an Omegle party. I'd never heard of the Omegle website before, but evidently this was something the comm had done in the past, basically just go in and freak people out. You'd lead in with something Star Trekkery, and just sort of see where that takes you. The objective, of sorts, was supposed to be trying to find other people from the comm, which for some people evidently happened all the freaking time, but I only ever found one. I read through some of the chat transcripts from the last time they did it and it seemed really hilarious, so I figured why not? And they were right--it didn't feel like three hours when I was doing it, LOL. I'm very surprised at the frequency at which these people played along, even for a little while. There were maybe three or four total. . . idk what to call them, hangups? Just after the first line or two. And I think those guys had just already figured out the ST game by having had someone before do the same kind of thing, and went "these Star Trek lines never lead to chat sex; I quit."
