Once I get on the phone, I'm usually okay. And I've always been told I'm really good on the phone, polite and courteous and eloquent and all. But sometimes I just can't pick it up. Strangers get me, mostly, like if I had to call a doctor or something to make an appointment. And bosses, because it's darn near impossible to ask somebody for money (though I've actually asked him for a raise before, but that was in person and because he was cheating me).
It's harder than most forms of communication, though, methinks in a purely objective way, because not only do you not have the body language and all to pick up on, but you can't even look back over what you're saying and revise it if necessary, like on the computer.
