Like I told Cathryn, DENTISTS ARE MADE OF FAIL. Even thinking about having to go back a bazillion more times makes me queasy. I don't know if I've ever reacted that strongly to fear before in my life. BUT IT'S NOT SO MUCH FEAR OF DENTISTS IN GENERAL AS FEAR OF PAIN. So if there wasn't the promise of 4 appointments worth of drilling and possibly also 2 root canals, I know it wouldn't be that bad. If it weren't so expensive (and I could be safely put under general anesthesia for the entire week containing the procedure), I'd think about telling her to just go ahead with the root canals, though, because I'd rather them be done and over with than have those teeth all drilled up and then have to go back and root canal them. (The getting it over with all at once being what I thought today was supposed to be, which is why I was pissed.)

It feels odd, you know? Because when you're little, you're crazy about your birthday for weeks beforehand, but now I'm really just more concerned about getting my driver's license before school starts so I can actually get to my classes. Prolly also because now that I'm older, my parents aren't too good at getting presents that I like. They seem to always be half a year or so behind in my interests which is probably my fault, but what am I supposed to do, go up to them a week before my birthday and say "Oy, I don't like this style/thing/whatever anymore but I'm sort of fancying that over there"?.
