I literally pounced on this entry. Because I love bra shopping and underwear shopping and talk of bra/underwear shopping. Even though bras can be ridiculously priced, even in Target, I still can't resist buying them. Though I often have to, due to lack of funds :(
I went shopping by myself (YES, BY MYSELF. IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME) the other day while my mum was at her dentist appointment and the main goal was to buy a strapless bra for the ball. And NCIS S3 for my brother's birthday, but let's not talk about that. I went into BNT/Bras 'n' Things and found a nice nude/beige/skin coloured pair AND THEN THE GIRL MADE ME TRY THEM ON. I knew they're inclined to do that in the actual bra shops (and Myer or David Jones, the more flash stores. IL watching my mum go there, because the ladies are always the older busybody types who are very persistent and generous with their hands) but I'd hoped I could get away with it. So I went and tried them on and she asked how I was doing and opened the curtain and had a good little fiddle with the straps etc. While I stand there in my bra and jeans probably blushing like a schoolboy. It's happened before, but that time it was a women wearing PJs and devil's horns, which somehow made it feel better. Plus this most recent assistant was INCREDIBLY ATTRACTIVE. I felt so awkward. They shouldn't be allowed to hire hot bra sellers. They just shouldn't!
Then I had a giggle to myself on the way out after wondering whether bra shops accept job applications from 16 year olds.
It annoys me that all the pretty bras seem to be in the smaller sizes, though. I have a field trip sifting through them all and finding a ton of 12Bs for myself. But my mum and my best friend both have trouble because they're in the larger sizes. How much trouble is it to sew on some extra lace or use a little more polka dot material? Same goes for plus-size women's clothing. There's hardly any of that around, and if there is it's either a small selection in a little store, or a really ugly selection in the back of the Target women's section. This frustration comes from being with my mum as she struggles to find nice clothes. It just doesn't seem fair.
