Aug. 3rd, 2006 10:05 amMy mom is talk show flipping while I'm on the laptop.
Emily Deschanel is on the View. Yay for her. Her voice sounds sort of different. Higher, somehow. They're now discussing Mel Gibson. I want to hear more about EmDesch, not Mel. The channel isn't coming in well, though, it's all fuzzy. Sadness.
Martha Stewart is having something where you vote what you should name her second cat. I glanced over at the TV, and there was a picture of the two cats smushed up together and all cute and under it, the thing said "Sirius and ??" and I immediately thought 'they should name it Remus.'
Orchestra concert at the mall yesterday: the little kids didn't suck as badly as I thought they would. One song they blew completely, but I had expected that from the beginning. The older kids did okay.
The chairs that the mall gave us were some of the worst seats that I have ever played any instrument on. I've played on couches, on hay bales, on park benches, on kitchen counters, and these were the most painful. I seem to remember them being bad the last time we played there too, but we've not been there in a few years. They sank backwards. And when you're playing, you're on the edge of the seat anyway, but even on the very edge you had to twist your back around all funny and it gave me a pretty bad backache.
Plus there was a TV screen behind the viola section that was cycling through their 'deals' ($200 off of a $700 stereo is not a deal in my mind) with rather loud music that was significantly distracting.
Anyway. I finally started The Scarlet Letter last night, so maybe I'll actually force myself through that before school starts. Maybe.
