Mi madre: "You know, I've noticed going through this stuff that you're a very creative writer. Even if I don't always like your choice of topics."

Me: "Huh?"

Umm, stop going through my stuff. She got all rampagey and decided to clean my room. I'm all like *hides slashy stuff*. Evidently maybe I missed some. Oops. Still, though. You're not supposed to read papers you find in your offspring's rooms. They're private and such things.

*is angry and doesn't want to go back there now*

I hate it when my mom decides she wants to clean my room.
"Maternal figure, what are you doing in my room?!"
"Cleaning!"
"Nonononono, I'll do it if it's that bad *shoves*"
And then I usually shove stuff in my closet so that its off the floor and she thinks I've done something.

No no no, see, I belive that you ARE supposed tosearch through your offspring's room to find any and all secret writings, and when your actions are questioned, the "cover your tracks" reply is "I'm checking your spelling. I never see anything you write." even though if you really want to snoop into your child's life, what you should have done is to #1 let them know that you trust them, #2 not freak out when they tell you things, and finally, #3 not be the kind of parent that snoops around in their child's room! Then they'd be your best friend and they'd tell you all about their life any time! But it seems easier to be aloof, then try to find things out by snooping. AHHH
