Hee, I've got my email set up now to deliver all lj comment notifications to a folder called "Unreplied LJ comments" so hopefully I won't lose them so much in my 300 someodd message strong inbox. I had tried to do that earlier, more than a year ago, but for some reason it didn't work. Of course, that doesn't mean that I'll find time to answer them, but still. Yay.

Must go to bed. I've got more things to talk about, but I've decided that as I've got to get up early enough tomorrow to take a shower (as I managed to completely forget tonight and my hair is scummy) and take all the trash to the curb for pickup (of which there is a lot because of continued room cleaning), I should probably endeavor to get more than three hours of sleep. Which will not happen unless I fall asleep within the next 20 minutes. Damn.

Oh. And since I actually played volleyball for two games in one match on Sunday (which was funfunfun)? My knees are purple. Badly so. Makes me laugh, because it's all *paleywhitepaleywhite-purplishbrownishyuck-paleywhitepaleywhite* Dumb annoying habit of diving for the ball even when there's no chance of reaching it in time. I realize that there's no chance, and yet I dive. Probably because I want to make it look like I tried to get it so people don't think I'm lazy. Even though there's no chance that anyone would have been able to get it in my position. This needing to please people thing, I dunno.

I had to make a tag for self-analysis. Because I have tags for everything else and I do that so often that it practically deserves its own LJ. Makes me smile, because I realize that most people probably don't spend as much time analyzing the motives behind every unconscious decision/action/thought/dream as I do. Dunno what that says about me.

Especially because we did a bit of mythology in english class last year, and everybody was surprised that I knew everybody we covered.
That was SO me! I'm always explaining mythological allusions to my friends, and I can never understand why they can't get it. But it's because they never had the chance to link it to something important to themselves...like, I'll remember the Xena ep along with the myth so it's easier to recall. But then I'll be like, "Psh, Ulysses SO owes Xena for that." Hehe. I'm LAME.

My favorite bit was when they retold myths and such.
I absolutely love those, because it's funny how the writer's work Xena and Gabs into the centerfold. Go GirlPower! And Xena/Gabrielle subtext. ;)
The only thing I liked about the later episodes was that Gabrielle seemed stronger and more independent, less of the innocent girly girl...it also changed the subtext relationship a bit. But it was weird how much her look changed...she was so pale and butch...

It works because her French makes it so that using cognates between both that and Spanish and English and Spanish, she can figure out the gist what I'm saying often
I get what you mean. Except, I'm bad a deciphering Spanish...which is why I have to ask you to translate everything you type. LOL *facepalm*

HA! That's so 'bloody' cool, you used "best mate"...are you British/Aussie?

Hee, exactly. I connect everything to TV shows. It really does help when you're as much of a geek as I.

Yeah, early on sometimes it's a little too "Oh, look, there are some bad guys on the horizon. Stay back, Gabrielle, I must protect your virtue!" Though the stories were better earlier, I prefer their relationship when they're more equal, honestly.

That's so 'bloody' cool, you used "best mate"...are you British/Aussie?

Nah, just. . . odd. I've got no idea why I started using either, but 'bloody' has been around for a while and 'mate' is a rather new (only this year, really) addition to my vocab. I've a penchant for odd words.

Yeah, it's nicer when Gabs could fend for herself and not be a liability and all. A lot of the earlier eps had her being the hostage or something similar.

Are you going to be an etymologist when you "grow up"?

Yeah. That got so boring. It was all "Oh, look, Gabrielle's been kidnapped. Again."

Are you going to be an etymologist when you "grow up"?

Nah, lol, though I did dabble with minoring in linguistics at one point. I've wanted to be a doctor pretty much since I was born, and decided on emergency medicine probably 8 years ago. Before that, I declared my intentions to be a cardio-thoracic/neurosurgeon, but I then realized that I'd get bored with it being the same kinds of things day after day. I need the puzzle, the unknown unconscious patient that comes in through the doors and you've got no idea what's wrong but you've got to fix it in the next 30 minutes or he'll die kind of thing, you know?
