The SG-1 episode "Heroes" was so Sam/Janet sad.
Now I am depressed. No more Janet.
But then again, I haven't watched most of the episodes before this yet. So I've still got loads of Janet to go.
I've only been seeing random episodes that my brother checks out (as I was trying to go in order, but disks 3 and 4 of season one at the library got lost by someone, so I'm stuck) . And I happened to walk in and tell him that I needed the DVD player (we were trying to see if the Babylon 5 disks that are all messed up would play on a different player. They don't.) and he was watching "Heroes", and I just got sucked in.
The ep definitely cemented my belief in Sam/Janet, though. If I had any doubts to how canon they were, this got rid of all of them.

But yeah... Hammond asking her to give the eulogy, the whole "I have to go pick up Cassandra," her breakdown after the... after what happened.
I could barely get through the episode without crying the first time and I've never watched it on DVD, despite getting the Season 7 set on release date. I can just not watch it straight through. :-(

Oh, yeah. The whole time, I was like 'that poor girl.'
her breakdown after the... after what happened.
I thought the first scene with the documentary guy where she was angry was really good acting-wise. Tapping was impressive this whole episode.

I spent the entire time trying not to, as my brother was in the room and would tease me to no end. Even at the beginning, after the main credits when they listed her name, I was all *sniffle*.

It's hard. I've actually watched it twice now, once just to watch it, and again as I capped some scenes. I did fast forward the second time through all the scenes without Sam or Janet in them, but I still had to watch the sad bits.

They don't really spend a lot of time on Cassandra or her reaction to it. Sam makes a mention in Season 9 of Cassie and the aftermath, but it's kind of a throwaway line. A lot of people complain about that, but I look at it as, "This is Stargate SG-1, not Stargate 90210. They really can't spend as much time on emotional breakdowns and the like." They only have so much time. It's unfortunate, but that's what fanfic is for. :D

Oh, TOTALLY. I love when she's storming down the hall and pushes him and the camera out of the way. So believably REAL.

I was fine through it all. Stiff upper-lip, dry-eyed and then... Sam's eulogy got me. And the baby named Janet. And Bregman's final product. *sniffle*

I love Teryl Rothery for making Janet Fraiser a character people cry over. It wasn't so much in the writing, the two temp doctors in Season 8 proves that, but it was Teryl. She made Janet. *hugs her*

LOL. I get what you're saying. They've got 42 minutes to get the plot of the day about the stargate or whatever in, which means not much time for subplots.

Yeah. It's always really cool when actors take nobody characters and make them into somebody that you care about. Yay, Teryl.

And yes, Teryl signed on for "a guest character, possibly recurring" and stayed for seven years. Funny thing, she originally auditioned for Sam Carter! But even she admits she is SO not Carter. ;-D
