Glitter and Close Calls

So. I want the Wicked video bits here, but I'm only 9% into Popular after one hour and 25 minutes. Grr. And I really want "Glitter and be Gay" before I leave for Chicago, but I doubt I'll have any download done by then, even if I can find it again.
And, nope! I had found it last week, but of course it's not here now.

My heart? Totally pounding. My mum walks up behind me, and I flip the page, but she sees it, and tells me to flip it back (she still thinks she needs to control what I do on the net). She's reading the review I was typing and goes "What's 'slashing'?" EEK! I quickly made something up, actually really close to the real definition, with the whole somebody[slash]somebody thing, just using a het pair as my example. I should have used some real pairing, that'd make it a little less suspicious, but I made up something like "Samantha/Michael". *Kicks self for not saying "Donna/Josh" or something.* I just hope she doesn't figure out what fandom I was writing about, and notice that Annabeth and Lou are both chicks.

Shit. I really hope West Wing is not on tomorrow. I've never hoped that before, but that'd be just what I need, the TV'll be like "Annabeth?" "Yes, Lou?" and my mum will be all !ALEXANDRIA, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU WRITING?!

Ha. I slowly eased my family into the prospect of me writing slash fiction. I'm just lucky they're real accepting. Well, more then acceptiong, my mum goes to gay pride marches and whatnot. But anyway.
They're just all 'Oh, yeah, Laura writes about gay people'. Actually, my sis is 'Ew! Cameron and Cuddy are both girls and House and Chase are both guys! Yuck!' but she's kinda adjusted. I think.

Lucky. My family is a bunch of Republican Catholics. Except for my sister (she's 9 and the cutest thing) who does know I write slash, and is always trying to read over my shoulder. She acts all grown up when I'm writing, all "What pairing? Ahh, Cameron/Cuddy. Cool!" And she leans over and whispers in my ear any time a particularly subtexty scene comes on (or any scene that two of the characters I like are in together). Unbelievably awesome, I've totally raised a slasher.
But as for the rest of them... urgh.
