From a rant about how Dinah and Barbara are SO NOT GAY by Chuck Dixon, comic book writer.

"It is almost exclusive to comics that two women who become close must be getting it on."

Um, whut, sir? No. No no no no no. Where have you been? Any two women/men/people who share the same room/scene/frame/page in a book are getting it on. This is the law of fandom.

And yes, it is the same for guyslash. Trust me. There is Batman/Commissioner Gordon fic.

I do not like this guy.

I wanna know who the pro he worked with is. And yes, Dinah and Barbara ARE SO GAY for each other.

Me too! I mean, we could run down a list of gay comic book characters, but somehow I don't think this person is as "pro" as he says, as I really can't come up with any top-tier comic book characters in that kind of a situation.

Aren't they? I started on the TV show, though, so I've got the dual Barbara/Helena Barbara/Dinah thing going on, depending on which fandom/universe we're talking about, which can get confusing, LOL.

I watched the fist five minutes of the show, then abandoned it. I'm a bit of a purist. But, really, Bruce and Selina having a kid? That would never happen in the comicverse.

I would be a purist too, I think, if I hadn't started with the show. It's like Jesus Christ Superstar. Because I watched the PBS version first, that's the one I base my comparisons on (though I'm not stuck on that one, I do prefer it), while because my brother watched the movie first, he only likes that one. It's good, in a way, that I can now jump between the two fandoms with no problem, while I'd most definitely be in your shoes if it was the other way around. But yes. I watched the first five minutes, my jaw dropped at the Helena/Barbara, and I was hooked, if only for that reason. Plus, Harley was deliciously crazyevil. And hits on Helena. All the time.

That would never happen in the comicverse.

Yeah? I don't know much about their comicverse relations. I've read comics with both Bruce and Selina, but not together, so idk.

The ages is what screws me up the most. Barbara's younger than Bruce, but Selina's younger than Barbara in comicverse (methinks), and yet in TV verse Selina is relatively close to Barbara's age, but logically has to be older to provide the fairly closeness in age between Barbara and Helena. Idk. Oddness. Plus the whole Bruce = deadbeat dad thing. That was weird.

I think it's entirely possible for it to happen in the comicverse. They'll do pretty much anything. But Selina is older than Barbara, but I think she's younger than Brue.
