It seems a lot of people have phobia of dentists. I think because your mouth is a really sensitive place? But your fears are totally justified, I reckon, after that history!
I remember when I had my filling done (it was in one of my baby molars, and has been the only work I've ever had to get done. Funny, since I'm not always up with the teeth-care) the dentist (can't remember if it was a man or woman, LOL) told me to tell them if it hurt, so I could have the anaesthetic. I prayed and prayed and prayed that it wouldn't hurt (and vowed not to raise my hand if it did) because I was terrified of getting jabbed in the gum. It didn't hurt :D
I'm kind of scared to go back now, though. Because it's been so long, and I'm worried I have a massive hole back there that will need to be filled. Or that something's going wrong with my wisdom teeth.
